Milan Markovic is a theoretician, writer, and stage director from Serbia, who is primarily focused on conceptual and artistic innovation. He achieved a diploma degree in philosophy, equivalent to a Master’s degree in English-speaking countries, from the University of Belgrade. From 2019 to 2021, he served as a professor of Introduction to Metaphysics at Lanzhou University in China. His passion for theater and tabletop role-playing games has led him to develop the concept of artplay. Recently, he directed the inaugural artplay experiment called “The Way: Short Artplays,” wrote interactive pieces, and published “A Manifesto for Artplay.” Currently, his main goals include breathing new life into the genre of tragedy through artplay, utilizing AI tools to reimagine early role-play experiments, and working on a theoretical work centered around the reconstruction of speculative realism.
