Sean Francis Han

Sean Francis Han is a Singaporean theorist, activist, and educator. His research interests lie in the fields of Metaphysics, Metaphilosophy, and French Theory, specifically the work of Deleuze, Badiou, and Laruelle. He is currently working on two research projects, one seeking to establish the ontological status of style and its relation to thought, and the other examining the evolution of theories of truth in the history of philosophy. Sean’s broader commitment is to bring theory out of academia, and he has initiated and organised reading groups and seminars with artist collectives, galleries, and universities, in order to bring theory into contact with the arts, activism, and other non-philosophical bodies of knowledge. Politically, Sean has worked in and with NGOs in Singapore for a range of causes, from sex workers’ rights to journalistic freedom, and has managed projects with Wake Up Singapore and New Naratif. He is currently completing his Master’s degree at the National University of Singapore.
