Sheltering Places began as The New Centre’s ongoing response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the course of two seasons our program has served as a way for our Students, Researchers and Instructors to engage one another and those artists, curators and philosophers who have accepted our invitation to the program across a range of urgent topics. The second season of Sheltering Places was a successful student-run attempt to experiment with modes of informal intellectual exchange as the opportunities for face-to-face interaction have been eroded globally. As an online institution at the forefront of innovating means of knowledge production and transmission since 2014, The New Centre hopes that Sheltering Places can continue to support collaborative thinking and contribute to public discourse.
