The past several weeks have borne witness to a bloodbath in Iran amidst images of systematic massacre and horrific abuses of power by the Iranian government against its own people. As a united front, we stand together to uphold the following convictions:
- That the Islamic Republic of Iran must come to an end at all costs and by any means available to the will and agency of the Iranian people. There can be no political negotiation or trace of this regime allowed in the aftermath of its unforgivable record of violence.
- That the Islamic Republic of Iran has committed crimes against humanity. Undeniable evidence exists of mass killings, execution squads, imprisonment, coercion, rape, forced confession, oppression, extortion, corruption, forced electricity and internet blackouts, and totalitarian persecution being used in large-scale attacks against civilian populations.
- That political prisoners must immediately be protected against the Islamic Republic of Iran’s tactics of: murder without trial, solitary confinement, starvation, physical torture, sexual abuse by guards, falsification of death certificates, desecration of bodies including organ harvesting, destruction of graves, withholding of bodies from family, and disappearance without record. There is also evidence of children currently being confined in jails and medical practitioners being given death sentences, all of which violate the conditions of international law. Furthermore, no dishonoring of all political prisoners in Iran and accusations against their characters should be tolerated in light of their sacrifice.
- That the international community has not yet risen to the defense and support of the Iranian people. The world must not continue to fall silent and fail this occasion.
- That the political future of Iran will be determined by the Iranian people, in a free democratic process that involves Iranians of all languages, ethnicities, and provinces, including the Iranian diaspora.
